Free Heart Check Up Camp in Kakani, Nuwakot

"Save the Heart" is a non-governmental and non-profit organization comprising volunteers including medical doctors, perfusionists, nurses, lawyers, and other social workers. Founded in 2012 in Nepal, the organization aims to assist with heart-related issues, provide early diagnosis of heart diseases, raise awareness among the people of Nepal, and promote education and awareness of healthy lifestyles and diets. Associate Prof. Dr. Anil Bhattarai serves as the president of the SAVE the HEART organization, specializing in heart-related problems in Nepal, while Mr. Sher Bahadur Rana holds the position of General Secretary. 

"Save the Heart" organized a Free Heart Check-Up Camp in Kakani Rural Municipality of Nuwakot District on December 7 & 8, 2023, with the support of Kakani Rural Municipality and Mission Bambini, Italy. All the services provided during the camp, including screenings, ECG examinations, echocardiographies, and consultations, were offered free of cost by Save the Heart. During the camp, a total of 2727 children were screened, 430 ECG examinations were conducted, 860 echocardiographies were performed, and 27 individuals were identified who required surgery or follow-up check-ups.
